Tugboat/ Classic Yacht "Maria Teresa"

Power up

Maria Teresa was built in 1962 as a tugboat called Capo Caccia and because of her solid hull and powerful engines, she was given difficult tasks over 30 years which she successfully accomplished. Testament to her strength is the fact that the Cantieri Navali at Sestri fitted her with modern technology but did not have to make any alterations to the form or efficiency of her original design.

During her career she worked for the Compagnia Rimorchiatori Riuniti at Genoa and then on the expansion of the port of Monte Carlo for a local company. Still in perfect working order and fit for travelling any distance, she was retired to a shipyard, but a after a meeting with a well-known Monegasque ship owner who fell for, this meant a return to life at sea.

Her refit and partial reconstruction began in 2007 and the work was completed in 2014. The result was a 24 meter luxury and fully technologically updated yacht with excellent power, capable up to 12 knots, and en engine room boasting over 1800 HP.

The work was entrusted to Matteo Picchio, an expert architect passionate about classical boats. He respected the original structure and added all the necessary technology to turn the yacht into an ideal leisure craft, with stabilisation solutions to lower the center of gravity, improving the weight distribution and lines.

Maria Teresa accommodates 10 guests in 4 cabins and her two new MAN engines of 900 HP allow her to cruise for 2800 nautical miles at the cruising speed of approx. 10 knots. Thanks to her full load of 240 tons and 3,50 meter draft, she has an outstnading sea keeping. This is a very economical yacht to run and to maintain thanks to her exquisite but welcoming marine decor.
